Post Moonshine - Ready to roll

I missed a few posts... I'll get back to them but there wasn't really much going on... I went out to the farm yesterday to make sure there wasn't any trash left.. Was stuck in Casey, IL waiting on a new rear tire. Managed to get two Moonburgers in the process and visited Terry Hammond's grave. I have been the only guest for two nights. Casey has great nice people. A local gave me a ride to the shop after my tire arrived. I pulled the wheel in the Comfort Inn parking lot just as the UPS truck pulled up. Lots of train traffic here but no sun so I didn't bother with photos. My little camera quit, it got wet. So did my old waterproof Magellan GPS... I think it will eventually dry out. 1600 miles I did in the rain... I don't think it was that waterproof. My bicycle GPS is still working so I won't get lost.

Headed for Bonne Terre, MO to do some family history stuff tomorrow, then Kansas City the next day.

SPOT will be on

Moonshine Lunch Run - raining again

It rained last year too.  Helen told me it would be nice next year.  I don't trust her.

Terrys Farm

Left Donnellson Iowa in heavy rain

Made it to Terry's Farm about 5:30 pm

Johnny O gave me a warm greeting and helped me set up the tent.

Later that evening we went to Richard's Farm for the Banquet.

Moonshine - Badlands bad

Wind and more wind.. and it never got above 57F.. it's cold. Next time I'll bring the Si instead of the ST. Finally ran out from under the clouds but was slowed down running about 60mph for most of the day. Still about 650 miles to go. See ya there.

Moonshine 2012 - thinking of Terry Hammond

It's kinda quiet at NatSTOC.

Headed out for the Moonshine run today. It was very cool... I had the vest on high most of the day and used the high viz windbreaker over the vest. Just under 500 miles. Played the USA game along the way but not for real as I didn't get a flag. Shortly I ran through Hammond, MT. We miss you Terry

I was alone when I went upstairs at the GEM in Deadwood... man, it changed since 1894, No girls... well except the servers... and all they offered was great food. Seriously, best food there.

Moonshine again

I retired early as the weather has been fantastic this spring. I cannot wait to start riding again. I caught the very tail end of Moonshine last year. Moonshine was started by a buddy Terry Hammond who was a farmer near Casey, IL. This ride is about friends and camping and food and fun than the riding as there is not many interesting roads in the central IL area. Moonshine, IL has a population of 2. It is really just a General Store that doesn't even show up on Google map last I checked.

I'll be leaving TUE the 10th of April. I changed the oil and filter. I was going to service the forks but it'll wait as I'll not be working the suspension as much as usual this trip. I shipped a couple of rear tires to Kansas City.. I'll put one on on the way back and have Will keep the other for futre emergencies.
